About Me
As I travelled the world as a young woman, I became curious about how our sense of worth and identity develops. I studied Psychology and Health Sciences on my return to the UK and then worked mainly in the education sector. My interest in mental health grew as I worked closely with children diagnosed with ADHD and Autism who were experiencing high levels of anxiety. I decided to train as a psychotherapist to support people looking for a path to wellbeing.
Core Process Psychotherapy was an approach that I felt honoured the mind, body and human spirit. I studied at the highly regarded Karuna Institute as it provided a unique embodied approach to mindfulness-based psychotherapy training. I felt a deep connection with the wisdom and optimism of this style of therapy that believes in the inherent 'core' health of the individual and explores how we 'process' our emotional and physical experience.
I am an accredited Core Process Psychotherapist with a MA in Mindfulness Based Psychotherapeutic Practice. I work online and in person (in Bath and Chippenham) with adults of all ages and backgrounds. I also work with staff in primary and secondary education, and people preparing for bereavement as a Volunteer Counsellor in the Family Support Team at Dorothy House Hospice Care.
"Our ability to abide in silence, confusion, fear, or uncertainty must be viewed not as a problem, but as a doorway to mutuality, wisdom, and health."
